Piotr Jakub Fereński
specialises in cultural studies and the history of ideas, and is an art theorist, critic and curator. He work concerns the history and philosophy of culture, visual culture and urban studies. His research examines the relationships between cultural memory, public space and artistic practices, with particular emphasis on disputes over the shape of contemporary communities and the mechanisms of cultural hegemony. He is interested in the role of art and social activity in working with memory, historical trauma and strategies of resistance to dominant narratives.
