
Katarína Rusnáková
Katarína Rusnáková, born in1959, in Žilina, Slovakia. She is a PhD, theoretician, curator, and critic. She was the curator and director of the Museum of Art in Žilina (1992–1997), the director of the Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art at the National Gallery in Prague (1999–2000), and a scientific researcher at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (2003–2005). She then served as director of the Theory and History of Fine Arts Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica (2006–2024). Her research focuses on global and Slovak art, particularly video art, digital art, and gender issues. She has prepared sixty exhibitions in Slovakia and abroad, including work by Ilona Németh and Jiří Surůvka at the 49th Venice Biennale and Jiří David at the 56th Venice Biennale. She is the author of several scientific books.
