Kalina Kukiełko
is a sociologist and cultural researcher with a PhD in the humanities. Her primary interests include broadly defined social communication and contemporary modes of communication. A long‑time enthusiast and promoter of Marshall McLuhan’s media theory, she is the author of Między nauką a sztuką. Teoria i praktyka artystyczna w ujęciu Marshalla McLuhana, a book that won her the Pierre Savard Award from the International Council for Canadian Studies (2016). She is the editor of the first Polish translation of McLuhan’s The Gutenberg Galaxy (2017), acknowledged by the Polish Sociological Association as the best translation of the year 2018. She collaborates on a regular basis with The McLuhan Institute, directed by Andrew McLuhan. She is currently interested, both academically and personally, in inclusive fashion (especially in relation to the disabled) and diversity.
