Agata Szydłowska
earned a degree in Art History from the University of Warsaw and completed the Graduate School for Social Research at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, Polish Academy of Sciences. In 2015 she received a PhD from the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, University of Warsaw, with a dissertation on typography as a site for negotiating collective identities in post-1989 Poland. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Design Theory, Faculty of Design, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She is the author of several books, including Futerał. O urządzaniu mieszkań w PRL-u (2023). Her research interests include the social history of design in the Polish People’s Republic, posthumanism, and interspecies perspectives in design.
